CARBONDALE, Ill. - The SIU men's basketball team hosts Southeast Missouri at 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 21. Doors will open at 1:30 p.m. for photos with Santa Claus and Christmas carols by the Little Egypt Barbershop Chorus.Â

GAME PROMOTIONS
- The Little Egypt barbershop chorus will sing Christmas carols in the main lobby (Charles Helleny Pavillion) prior to the game, starting at 1:30 p.m., and Santa will also be available for photos with kids starting at 1:30 p.m.
- The first 500 fans will receive a free Christmas ornament.
- Fans are encouraged to wear their best ugly Christmas sweater to the game.Â

OPENING TIP
- SIU closes non-conference action by hosting Southeast Missouri on Saturday at 3 p.m. in Banterra Center.Â
- The Salukis are 4-1 at Banterra Center this season. After Wednesday's win over Hampton, the SIU-SEMO game marks the first back-to-back home games for SIU this season.Â
- SIU leads the MVC in scoring defense (62.1 ppg allowed) after giving up just 53 points to Hampton on Wednesday. That mark ranks in the top-50 nationally (of 353).Â
- SIU is allowing opponents to shoot just 41.7% from the field and 29.2% from the 3-point line. SIU's 3-point field goal percentage defense ranks second in the MVC. SIU has held five of 12 opponents under 40% shooting this season and 11 of 12 under 50%.Â
- In Wednesday's win against Hampton, SIU's five freshmen (Marcus Domask, Trent Brown, Karrington Davis, Lance Jones and Sekou Dembele) combined for 40 points, 15 assists, 13 rebounds, and 5 steals. If you add in sophomore Harwin Francois, SIU's underclassmen combined for 49 points, 19 rebounds, 16 assists and 6 steals.Â
- Domask leads all MVC freshmen in scoring, rebounding, and assists. He is one of seven freshmen in the nation averaging at least 14 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.Â
Dawg Bites: The road team has won each of the last two games in the SIU-SEMO series ... After scoring 75 on Wednesday, SIU has won 24-straight games when it scores 75+, dating back to the 2016-17 season ... SIU is 5-0 when it has 15+ assists and 0-7 when it has 14 or fewer assists ... SIU's season free throw percentage (73.4%) is on pace to be SIU's best since 2004-05 (74.8%). SIU is shooting 37-for-43 from the free throw line in the last two games (86%) ... Ronnie Suggs Jr.'s turnover rate (6.4%) is the best in the MVC and ranks 21st nationally. Suggs has committed just three turnovers all season in 200 minutes on the court.
