The Southern Illinois baseball program travels to Arkansas State for a Tuesday mid-week game against the Red Wolves. Fifteen of SIU's final 28 regular season games are against opponents currently ranked in the top-50 of the RPI, starting with No. 47 Arkansas State on Tuesday.Â

- Southern Illinois travels to Arkansas State for a 5 p.m. game in Jonesboro, Ark., on Tuesday, April 2.Â

- SIU has hit 20 sacrifice flies, which ranks fourth the nation. Ian Walters ranks second in the nation with six sacrifice flies.
- Trey McDaniel ranks 11th in the NCAA with seven saves, which also leads the Missouri Valley Conference. SIU bullpen coach Ryan Netemeyer led the MVC in saves each of the past two seasons. If McDaniel leads the MVC in saves this year, SIU will be the first Valley program since Wichita State (1997-01) to have a player leads the MVC in saves three-straight seasons.
- SIU is 5-1 in mid-week games this year. Dating back to the start of the 2018 season, Southern Illinois is 15-4 in mid-week games.Â
- Dawg Bites: SIU is 13-4 in its last 17 games against unranked opponents ... SIU is outscoring opponents 37-14 in the first two innings. The Salukis are 11-4 when they score first ... Philip Archer, Ian Walters, and Addison Fugitt have all reached base in six-straight games, the longest active streaks on the team ... Alex Lyon is 5-for-9 with two doubles, three RBIs, and three stolen bases in the last two games ... SIU is 13-1 when tied or leading after six innings.
