Peyton Wilhoit wins MVC Golfer of the Week award for 10th time in his career

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Southern Illinois men's golfer Peyton Wilhoit has won Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week honors, the league office announced on Wednesday, claiming the award for the 10th time in his four-year career at SIU.
Wilhoit had his best finish of the 2018-19 season last weekend with a fifth-place showing at the FAU Spring Championship, helping the team to a third-place finish out of 14 teams. He finished 8-under par and shot 72-70-66 for a three-round total of 208, matching his previous best tournament score that he recorded last year at William & Mary.
Wilhoit was under par during all three rounds, had 15 birdies and his final-round of 66 tied his personal best and was the fifth-lowest round in school history.
