Saluki Football conducting walk-on tryouts on August 19

The Southern Illinois football program will conduct walk-on tryouts on Monday, August 19, at 5:45 p.m. in Saluki Stadium. All participants must attend an informational meeting at the Boydston Center (football office) at 5p.m. on Sunday, August 18.Â
All interested participants need to fill out the online Physical Form and bring it to the tryouts.  The form must be completely filled out, including a doctor's signature. Physicals taken before August 18, 2018, will not be accepted.  Each participant must also bring a copy of their medical insurance to give to athletic training staff.  You will be required to complete medical release forms before the tryouts begin. Â
All interested participants must be enrolled in classes as a full time student for the 2019 Fall Semester and bring a print out of their class schedule.  A participant's GPA will heavily impact the decision for who is invited onto the team.   Â
Tryouts will be conducted on the field turf of Saluki Stadium, so bring cleats and work out sneakers. Â Expect the tryout to last approximately 30 minutes to an hour. Contact Gaizka Crowley, Director of Recruiting and Player Personnel, at Gaizka.ansola-Crowley@siu.edu with questions.Â
