ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Southern Illinois left tackle Ernest Dye Jr. is the Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
A senior with 20-career starts to his credit, Dye Jr. was instrumental in helping the Saluki offense generate 526 yards of total offense and 27 first downs in a 41-28 loss to FBS Arkansas State last Saturday. He helped pave the way for both a 100-yard rusher (Javon Williams Jr.) and 100-yard receiver (Avante Cox). Dye Jr. graded out at 90 percent with five knockdowns/bonus blocks and had no penalties or mental errors.
