
Salukis host Drake at 3 p.m. Sunday

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The SIU men's basketball team hosts Drake on Sunday at 3 p.m. in Banterra Center. The Salukis are looking for a seventh-straight home win.Â
There will be 100 free Salukis In Unity t-shirts for SIU students at the game. Jacob Marnin (Saluki Football Academic All-American) and Makenzie Silvey (Saluki Women's Basketball 1,000-point scorer) will be honored. MVC Commisioner Doug Elgin will be in attendance and will be recognized for 30 years of Arch Madness.Â

- The SIU men's basketball team returns home to host Drake on Sunday at 3 p.m.Â
- SIU is 7-1 at home this year and has won six-straight home games. Dating back to last season, SIU has won four-straight MVC home games. This year, SIU is 2-0 at home vs. MVC teams, with wins over Illinois State and Valpo.
- SIU leads the MVC and ranks 21st nationally (of 353) in scoring defense, allowing just 60.8 points per game. In its two MVC wins, SIU held both Illinois State and Valpo to their season scoring low.
- Marcus Domask is one of only four freshmen in the nation averaging at least 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. The others: Cole Anthony (North Carolina), Tyrell Terry (Stanford), and Alex Morales (Wagner).Â
- Domask leads all MVC freshmen in scoring and rebounding.Â
- Lance Jones leads all MVC freshman in assists (2.8 per game). Domask ranks second (2.6).Â
- Since 1992-93 (first year available on Sports Reference), only one MVC freshman have averaged 14 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game: Shea Seals (Tulsa, 1993-94). Marcus Domask is on pace to become the second.
- Fifty-two percent of SIU's scoring this season has come from freshman and sophomores.Â
- SIU leads the MVC in 3-point field goal percentage defense, limiting opponents to less than 30% from the 3-point line. In SIU's two MVC wins, the Salukis held opponents to a cumulative 8-for-42 (19%) from the 3-point line.
- Dawg Bites: SIU has only played two games this year decided by 8 points or fewer ... SIU has won 24-straight games when it scores 75+, dating back to the 2016-17 season ... SIU is 7-0 when it has 15+ assists and 1-10 when it has 14 or fewer assists ... In SIU's games this year, whoever wins points in the paint is 14-2 (SIU is 6-1 when it wins points in the paint & 1-1 when PIP are tied).Â
50-40-90 CLUB
- SIU has never had a player shoot 50% from the field, 40% from the 3-point line, and 90% from the free throw line. SIU freshman Marcus Domask is currently at 53%, 43% and 87%.Â
- Only two players in SIU history have shot both 50% from the field and 40% from the 3-point line: Domask is on pace to become the third.Â

- Armon Fletcher, 2018-19 (51% FG, 42% 3FG)
- The closest any SIU player has been to a 50-40-90 season is Kai Numberger in 1987-88 (47.5 FG%, 45.3 3FG%, 89.7 FT%)
- According to Sports Reference, which dates to the 1992-93 season, only 25 players in NCAA Division I have shot 50-40-90 for a season. Of those 25 players, only one was a freshmen, and none were MVC players. (Min. 100 FGA).
