J.D. Muila to miss 2020-21 season

CARBONDALE, Ill. - SIU forward J.D. Muila's had successful knee surgery on Tuesday to repair a torn meniscus, according to head coach Bryan Mullins. Doctors reevaluated his timeline for rehabilitation at 4-6 months, and he will miss the 2020-21 season.Â
Muila, who was rated the No. 24 junior college recruit in the nation by JucoRecruiting.com, is a transfer from Indian Hills College. In two years there, he helped Indian Hills to a 57-10 record and shot better than 60 percent from the field. He led Indian Hills in rebounding last season and had 13 career 10+ rebound games.Â
