
Men’s Golf finishes day two of Seminole Intercollegiate

The Southern Illinois University men's golf team completed day two at the Seminole Intercollegiate Saturday. In a difficult field that features seven teams ranked in the top-50 nationally, Southern cut two strokes off of its round one total to card a 304.
The Salukis are currently 14th and sit 13 strokes out of the top-10. No. 17 Washington leads the 14-team field with a one-over-577.
Tom Cleaton led the way on day two, as he carded a 1-over-73. The sophomore from Rugby, England made the biggest leap of any Saluki in round two, as he cut nine strokes off his total from day one. Markus Wilhelmsen cut seven strokes off his day one total to post a 4-over-76 on Saturday.
Sean Mullan carded a 6-over-78 on Saturday and is eight-over for the tournament. The senior from Englefield, England birded or pared nine of his 18 holes Saturday and is tied for 53rd. Matthis Besard tied Mullan for the most birdies (4) of any Saluki and is tied for 59th overall after he carded an eight-over-80 on Saturday. Birgir Magnusson is tied for 63rd while Cleaton (T-66th) and Wilhelmsen (72nd) will also attempt to climb the leaderboard on Sunday.
The Salukis conclude play at the Seminole Intercollegiate on Sunday beginning at 8:50 a.m. ET.
