Tuesday's baseball game vs. Murray State moved to Carbondale

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The SIU vs. Murray State baseball game scheduled for Tuesday, February 25, has been moved to Itchy Jones Stadium. The game was originally scheduled to be played in Murray, Ky.

The game is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. and is the home opener for first-year head coach Lance Rhodes and the 2020 Salukis.

Marion High School graduate Mitchell Jackson will be the starting pitcher for the Salukis. Jackson, a freshman, has impressed early in his collegiate career. He holds a 1.59 ERA in 5.2 innings out of the bullpen over three appearances. He is limiting opponents to a .190 batting average. Jackson was a 36th round draft pick in the 2019 MLB Draft by the Atlanta Braves.

The Salukis are 4-4 this season, and are coming off a weekend win over USC.

SIU and Murray State are flipping home games for the mid-week home-and-home series; the Salukis will now travel to Murray State on April 7.
