ST. LOUIS - The SIU men's basketball team is the No. 5 seed in the 2020 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament. The Salukis open the tournament against 4-seed Bradley at 2:35 p.m. CT on Friday afternoon at Enterprise Center.Â
SIU finished the regular season 16-15 overall and 10-8 in MVC play. SIU's 10 league wins represent the most ever by a team that was picked last in the preseason poll (since 1986). The 2020 Salukis are also one of only four teams since 1986 to finish in the top half of the league standings after being picked last in the preseason. SIU finished in the top half of the conference for the fifth consecutive season, which is the longest active streak in the league.Â
SIU lost both games against Bradley in the regular season. The Salukis and Braves will meet for the first time in the conference tournament since 2009. SIU is 5-2 all-time against Bradley in the MVC Tournament, including a win in the 2006 title game.Â
