To Saluki Nation,
Our world has changed so much in the past week, and as athletic administrators, we are doing everything in our power to ensure the health and well-being of our student-athletes. Rest-assured, they will be well-cared-for by our coaches and support team.
I'd like to take a moment to speak directly to Saluki Nation. We know your lives have been turned upside down. Sporting events seem almost trivial when our nation is facing a pandemic. At the same time, I know sports has the capacity to bring tremendous happiness to so many people. As the mother of two college athletes, sports are central to my life and the lives of many in our country. We will continue to stay in touch with our fans and supporters, using our social media channels to keep you informed, along with multimedia content that we hope brightens your day.
We are also available to answer questions you might have about tickets or SASF donations. While we will not offer walk-up service at our ticket office in the near term, you may call senior associate AD Jimmy Karayiannis (618-521-5666), assistant AD Kate Hanson (859-912-3063) or assistant AD Bryce Williams (618-317-2358) with questions. You can also access your account at SIUSalukis.com.
When our leadership team met this morning, the phrase "We are Southern Illinois" came up as a rallying cry for our department. Everywhere we look in our region, we find hard-working, blue-collar folks who care for each other in times of need. You inspire us. Each day may bring new challenges, but We ARE Southern Illinois. We have each other's backs. We WILL get through this. Thank you for supporting us as we strive to represent the resilient spirit of Southern Illinois through collegiate athletics. Take good care and Go Dawgs.
