CARBONDALE, Ill. - SIU hosts Bellarmine and Northern Illinois to Itchy Jones Stadium for a four-game weekend. SIU will play each team twice. Additionally, NIU and Bellarmine will face each other on Friday prior to SIU's evening game against Bellarmine.

AROUND THE HORN
- SIU hosts Bellarmine and Northern Illinois to Itchy Jones Stadium for a four-game weekend. SIU will play each team twice. Additionally, NIU and Bellarmine will face each other on Friday prior to SIU's evening game against Bellarmine.
- The MVC announced on Thursday that the conference will return to its original non-COVID plan for an eight-team MVC baseball tournament. Prior to Thursday, only the top six teams were going to be eligible for the tournament and play a double-elimination, six-team bracket. Now, all eight teams will make it; the 5-8 seeds will play a single-elimination play-in round; and the final six teams after that will play a six-team double-elimination tournament, just like the 2019 tournament.Â
- The weekend marks the halfway point in the season for SIU and is the final non-conference weekend of the season. It's also the end of a 12-game home stand, and a stretch in which SIU is playing 23 of 24 games at home.
- SIU fell out of the national rankings this week after losing five of its last seven games. SIU spent four-straight weeks in the Collegiate Baseball Top-30 poll, the program's first national ranking in 31 years.
- J.T. Weber tied the SIU single-game record with eight RBIs in a game vs. Illinois State last weekend. Weber is the fifth SIU player to drive in eight runs in a game, and just the second since 2000.
- Magic at The Itch: SIU is in the midst of a 12-game home stand ... SIU is 14-6 at home this season ... SIU is 19-6 at home under head coach Lance Rhodes ... The Salukis are 50-19 in their last 69 home games, which dates back to 2018.
