Franco was named the MVC Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts against Murray State and Illinois State. The senior played a total of 166 minutes across the pair of shutouts, and had one assist during the week.
Brechtel and Emma Spotak are tied for the team-lead in goals with three each. After them, both Christy Murauskis and Kaitlin DuCharme have scored twice this season.
Brechtel also leads the team in assists with two so far this year.
Alaluf has been featured the most in-goal for the Salukis, playing and starting in 11 games. She has allowed just 11 goals across those 11 matches.
Lougher has gotten the start for SIU in its last two matches, tallying a combined five saves in the two shutouts.
Sam Dodd has the team's most shots (29) and shots-on-goal (12).

Looking at Valparaiso

The Beacons are 7-6-3 overall and 6-1-1 in conference play heading into their match against the Salukis.
Valparaiso has won three matches in a row, including a 2-1 victory at Murray State in its last match on Sunday.
The Beacons trailed after 20 minutes, but Addy Joiner tied the match in the 28th minute before Abby White scored the winner in the 51st minute.
Valpo's lone loss in conference play was to Missouri State (1-0) on Oct. 2.
Valparaiso is third in the Valley in goals against average (1.00).
Joiner leads both the team and league in goals with six on the season. Molly O'Rear is second on the team with three.
Allie Anderson's five assists are a team-high and are tied for the second most in the MVC.
Nikki Coryell has played in 15 games in-goal for the Beacons, tallying a 0.90 goals against average and .806 save percentage.
Valpo's head coach is John Marovich, who is in his 15th season.

Thursday's match will be the third all-time meeting between the Salukis and Beacons.
