
SIU prepares for final two home matches of the season

The Southern Illinois volleyball team returns to Davies Gym this weekend as the Salukis play their final two home matches of the season as Indiana State and Evansville visit. Friday's match against the Sycamores will begin at 6 p.m. followed by a 5 p.m. start on Saturday with the Purple Aces.Â
Saturday's match will also be SIU's Senior Night as the Salukis honor lone senior Bailey Neuberger.Â

The Sycamores enter Friday's match on an eight match losing streak with a 3-18 (2-11 MVC) record.

Indiana State is currently looking for its first road win of the season as they are currently 0-9 in away matches.Â

Evansville enters the weekend 10-17 (7-6 MVC) but will play at Missouri State on Friday prior to the matchup with the Salukis.

After beating both UIC and Valpo in four-sets last weekend, Evansville moved above .500 in conference play for the first time this season.Â

The Purple Aces are paced by Alondra Vazquez who leads the Valley averaging 4.68 kills per set, and Guilia Cardona who leads the Valley with 401 total kills on the year.Â
