CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois basketball plays host to Lincoln-Missouri Tuesday night. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. from Banterra Center. Tickets can be purchased by clicking HERE. Fans can also receive a free ticket by donating a children's coat as part of the Coats for Kids promotion.

• Tuesday's game with Lincoln will be the first ever meeting between the two programs.

• Lincoln enters the contest with an overall record of 5-2 on the season and a 2-2 record in MIAA play. The Tigers lone Division I game this season was an exhibition with Kansas City in which the Tigers defeated the Roos 59-56 on the road.

• As a team, LU is scoring 76.9 points per game and are holding opponents to 60 points. Artese Stapleton leads the team in scoring at 20.3 points per game while also leading LU with 27 assists. Kevin Kone joins Stapleton as the only other LU player in double digits with 15.1 points and 14.4 rebounds per game.

JOHNSON EARNS MVC NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK HONORS
• Xavier Johnson shot lights out over the past week for the Salukis, converting 13-of-16 shots over two games to finish with an 81.3 field goal percentage, including a 10-of-12 mark from behind the arc. He averaged a team-high 18.5 points and four steals for SIU while also averaging 4.5 rebounds and two assists per game. The Germantown, Maryland native led the Salukis to their first MVC win on the road at Evansville with a 14-point, four rebounds and two steal performance, hitting 5-of-6 shots from the floor and all four attempts from distance. Johnson went on to score a career-high 23 points on the road at Saint Louis after shooting 8-for-10 from the field and 6-for-8 from deep. His six steals and six 3-pointers against the Billikens also set new career-high marks.
