CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois swimming and diving program is set to host a tri-meet with Arkansas-Little Rock and Lindenwood, tomorrow inside Shea Natatorium at 3 p.m. The final home meet of the season will also feature the swim and dive program's senior day, recognizing 12 seniors before the meet.
"Senior day is always special, and tomorrow will be no exception," said head coach Geoff Hanson. "We are really excited to get up and compete against two good teams, and to honor the 12 seniors who have meant so much to the Saluki Swimming & Diving family. I'm confident the team will give their best effort and that we'll have some fast swims and great diving performances."
This will mark the first time the SIU Men's and Women's teams have competed inside Shea Natatorium in 2023. The squads traveled to Indiana State last weekend for the first meet of the calender year.Â
"The opportunity to compete against Arkansas-Little Rock, an MVC opponent, and Lindenwood, having just moved into Division I, will bring the best out of us tomorrow," Hanson said. "We'll have to be really sharp to come away with wins against these quality teams."
Event ScheduleÂ
Swimming: 400 Medley Relay, 1000 Freestyle, 200 Freestyle, 100 Backstroke, 100 Breaststroke, 200 Butterfly, 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle, 200 Backstroke, 200 Breaststroke, 500 Freestyle, 100 Butterfly, 200 IM, 200 Freestyle Relay
