Right guard Chase Evans earns MVFC Offensive Lineman of the Week honors

CARBONDALE, Ill. — Southern Illinois right guard Chase Evans was named the Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-4, 292-pound junior has started 19-straight games for the Salukis. Last Saturday at Murray State, he graded out at 94 percent on blocking assignments with six knockdowns. He did not allow a sack.
SIU's offense rushed for a season-high 270 yards in the 27-6 win over the Racers. The No. 12-ranked Salukis host No. 1 South Dakota State on Homecoming on Saturday at 2 p.m.
