
Salukis Set to Host Don DeNoon Invite

CARBONDALE, ILL. - The Southern Illinois Track & Field Program is set to host the Don DeNoon Invite this Friday and Saturday.
"Its always good to be able to compete in front of friends and family at home," said Director of Track and Field & Cross Country Richard Jones. "We use this meet as final preparation for the conference meet and choosing our championship team."
The Salukis look to build on last weekends performance at Vanderbilt's Music City Challenge. Rachel Anderson brought home the only Saluki first place finish, but the team competed well against power 5 competition.Â
The Don DeNoon Invite will take place in Carbondale inside the SIU Recreation Center.Â

"This is really an opportunity to rest some of our top tier athletes, fix some technical issues on a few others and allow some athletes to compete that may not have in recent weeks. This also serves as our final dress rehearsal before conference as well," Jones said.Â
