
Salukis Host Northern Iowa for Senior Night Wednesday

CARBONDALE, Ill. – Southern Illinois men's basketball will wrap up its home slate Wednesday night with UNI coming to town. The Salukis and Panthers will tip off at 7 p.m. with Senior Day ceremonies beginning ahead of the action.
Eight members of the basketball program will be honored pregame at approximately 6:40 p.m. including Marcus Domask, Lance Jones, Trent Brown, JD Muila, and Jawaun Newton. SIU managers Max Boston, Tim Caldwell, and Justin Endsley will be honored for their work off the court.

THE MATCHUP
• The meeting with UNI will mark the 75th meeting of all time. Southern Illinois leads the series 38-35 but has won only four of the last 10 meetings, including three-straight losses to UNI.
• The Panthers enter play at 13-15 overall after snapping a six-game skid with a win at Missouri State last time out. Northern Iowa is led by guard Bowen Born with 18 points per game while Tytan Anderson (12.6) and Nate Heise (10.0) also score in double figures for UNI.
• Southern Illinois will look for a season split with UNI Wednesday night at Banterra Center, after dropping its road matchup with the Panthers 69-57 on January 7. SIU rallied to cut the UNI lead to two points with under four minutes left but fell short in Cedar Falls. Lance Jones paced the Salukis with 17 points on the day while Marcus Domask chipped in eight and JD Muila and Xavier Johnson scored seven each.
LAST TIME OUT
• SIU is coming off a 50-48 loss at the hands of Bradley last game. The Salukis took a late lead but a four-point play in the final minute led the BU victory as SIU could not get their last three shots to fall.
• Marcus Domask scored a game-high 23 points for SIU, to go along with nine rebounds and four assists.
A DYNAMIC DUO
• Marcus Domask (9th-1,551) and Lance Jones (t14th-1,446) each rank in the top-15 in program history in points scored. The duo also ranks in the top 20 in career assists combining for over 600 over their careers.
• Marcus Domask has scored in double-digits in 25 of 29 games this season to lead SIU. He has scored 20 or more nine times, 30 or more three times. His 16.8 points per game rank sixth in the MVC.
• Lance Jones leads the Salukis with 61 3-pointers this season and 37 in Valley play. The senior has made 196 threes over his career to rank fifth in program history.
• Lance Jones' two steals at Valpo moved the guard into SIU's Top-5 in career steals.

• SIU's 61.4 points allowed per game ranks 14th nationally. The Salukis have held conference opponents to just 61.3 points per game and eight of its 18 Valley opponents to 57 points or fewer.
