Salukis Make Minor Schedule Change Ahead of Weekend Series With Valpo

Carbondale, Ill. - The Southern Illinois Salukis will continue its five-game homestand this weekend as the Valparaiso Beacons come to Carbondale for a three-game series. The Salukis have won 14 of their last 15 games including four-straight as they look for their 20th win on Friday.

In a recent schedule change due to expected weather, the Salukis and Beacons game on Saturday afternoon at 2 PM has been moved to Friday evening for a doubleheader beginning at 2 PM. Game two of the doubleheader on Friday will begin approximately 30 minutes following the end of game one.

Elizabeth Warwick has reached base in 21 out of the Salukis' 22 games as she leads the conference with 17 walks. Warwick is also top-10 in the MVC in RBIs (18), runs (18), doubles (8), and on-base percentage (.494)

Since joining the Missouri Valley Conference in the 2018 season, the Salukis have yet to lose to the Beacons with their only loss coming in 2011 in Tampa, Fla.
The Beacons will open their Missouri Valley schedule at Charlotte West on Friday with a 3-15 record after dropping their last six games
