Track and Field finalizes 2023 recruiting class

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University track and field team wrapped up its 2023 recruiting class on Friday ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.
"After year one, the staff looked over the roster and filled some necessary gaps," said Richard Jones, Director of Cross Country and Track & Field. "The program lacked depth and we believe that this recruiting class will fill those needs."
On Friday, the program announced the signings of Dallas Hodge and Darius Fuller. Hodge is a thrower from Columbus, Ohio, and Fuller is a jumper from Lancaster, Texas.Â
Earlier in the week, Ma'Kayala Winters was announced on the women's side. Winters, a jumper from Rockford, Ill., went to Rockford (Auburn) High School.
"This is the first recruiting class for this group of coaches so it's exciting to see how they adjust and how they will perform," Jones said.Â
