News | Salukis add Southern Illinois native Cy Norman ahead of the spring season

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois Men's Golf program announced the signing of Cy Norman Friday.
"We are excited to welcome Cy back home to Southern Illinois," Head Coach Justin Fetcho said. "He had an amazing high school and junior career right here in our region and we are pumped to be able to have him return back to his roots."
The Benton, Ill. native joins the Salukis and will compete in the upcoming spring season. Norman transfers in from the University of Central Florida with four years of eligibility remaining. He is a two-time AJGA Champion, 2021 IHSA 2A State Champion, and compiled six top 10 AJGA performances.
"Cy has a competitive mindset and is a hard worker, those are two attributes that we value highly in our program," Fetcho said. "We are thrilled to add someone with Cy's background and experience to our program and we look for him to make an immediate impact."
Norman's high school career, had an 18 round scoring average of 69.4 strokes, including two hole-in-ones in the same round.
