CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University women's basketball team (8-17, 3-12 MVC) will finish off its four-game road trip on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Missouri State.

- The Salukis will wrap up their longest road trip (four games) of the year on Sunday at Missouri State. Southern carries a record of 8-17 overall and 3-12 in Missouri Valley Conference play into the contest.Â
- SIU suffered its seventh road defeat of the season at UNI on Thursday, falling by a final score of 74-51. Paige Clubb led the Salukis with 14 points on 4-of-5 shooting from deep in the loss.Â
- Laniah Randle posted a career-high 36 points last Saturday, Feb. 17, at Indiana State. The 36 points are the third most points in a single game in SIU program history and tied for the second most in a game in the MVC this season.Â
- Randle was named the MVC Player of the Week for the second time in her career and this season on Tuesday. The junior averaged 34.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 2.0 steals-per-game last week.Â
- SIU is eighth in the MVC in scoring offense (67.0) and sixth in scoring defense (69.4).
- Southern is first in the conference and 22nd in the country in turnovers forced-per-game (20.56).Â
- No team in the conference has allowed fewer three-pointers than SIU at 117. Missouri State is second with 129. Southern is also fourth in the Valley in opponent three-point percentage (.302).
- The Salukis are first in the MVC and tied for 38th in the country in turnover margin (4.12).Â
- Southern Illinois leads the Valley and is tied for eighth in the NCAA in steals-per-game (11.8). The Salukis have posted 10 or more steals in 17 games and have three players top five in the league in steals-per-game.Â
LEADING THE SALUKIS
- Laniah Randle is the only player in the MVC to be top three in both scoring (third, 18.5) and rebounding (second, 8.6). Randle is also tied for 13th in total blocks (18) and fourth in total steals (55). The junior has had 20 or more points in 12 games this season, and three games with over 30, which leads the Valley.Â
- Randle is 43rd in the NCAA in scoring, 69th in rebounding, and 27th in offensive rebounds-per-game (3.9). The junior forward has nine double-doubles on the season, which is tied for 48th in the country.
- In all of 2022-23, SIU had six total double-doubles. The Salukis have 12 as a team this season. Randle has provided nine of them, while Hughes has the other three.Â
- Jaidynn Mason is second on the team and ninth in the MVC in scoring, averaging 14.1 points to go along with 3.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.7 steals-per-game, with the steals average leading the conference. Mason posted her 13th game with 10+ points last Saturday, and has three games with over 20 points on the year.Â
- Quierra Love is tied for third in the MVC and tied for 58th in the NCAA in steals-per-game (2.3). Love has posted two or more steals in 13 games, and has at least four steals in seven games. With five steals at UNI, Love is now sixth in career steals (191) at SIU, passing Petra Jackson, who had 189 steals from 1983 to 1986.Â
- Love is tied for fifth in the Valley in assists-per-game (4.0), and is tied for ninth in assist/turnover ratio (1.6).Â
- Paige Clubb's 14 points are the most the junior has scored since she tallied a career-high 18 points against Evansville on Jan. 21. This was Clubb's third game in double-figures this season.Â
LOOKING AT MISSOURI STATE
- Missouri State holds a record of 17-7 overall and 11-4 in MVC play. At home, the Lady Bears are 11-1.Â
- In its last game, Missouri State fell at Drake, 76-65, in Des Moines, Iowa, on Thursday. Jade Masogayo (19 points) and Indya Green (18 points) led the team in scoring in the loss.Â
- The Lady Bears are seventh in the league in scoring (69.0), but second in scoring defense (64.7).
- Lacy Stokes is Missouri State's top scorer, averaging 11.1 points-per-game, which ranks inside the top 20 in the MVC.
- Beth Cunningham is in her second season as Missouri State's head coach, and is 37-19 with the Lady Bears. Overall, this is Cunningham's 11th year as a head coach and holds a career record of 204-134.Â
SERIES HISTORY
- SIU is 31-62 all-time vs. Missouri State. The Lady Bears have won each of the last four meetings.
- In their last meeting, the Lady Bears defeated Southern Illinois, 62-52, on Feb. 3, in Carbondale. Stokes and Masogayo both had 14 points, while Mason had a game-high 21 points for SIU.Â
