CARBONDALE, Ill. – The Southern Illinois men's golf team will compete in the Golfweek/Any Given Tuesday Intercollegiate Monday in Pawleys Island, S.C.
The Salukis will compete with 17 other teams in a three-day tournament, with each playing 18 holes per day. Among the teams in the field are Austin Peay, Central Arkansas, Connecticut, Denver, Jacksonville State, James Madison, Kansas City, LIU, Marshall, North Alabama, Northern Kentucky, Ohio, Richmond, Stephen F. Austin, USC Upstate, Valparaiso, Xavier,
The Salukis will send a five-man team and one individual performer to the tournament – Andrew Thornton, Dain Richie, Leon Heitz, Edouard Cereto, and Oliver Ulrich. Justin Wingerter will play as the individual.
The tournament will be played at True Blue Golf Club, a par-72 that spans 6,978 yards.
The Salukis finished eighth out of 14 in the Seminole Intercollegiate March 11 and 12 in a tournament that featured multiple top-25 foes.
Dain Richie was the team's top performer, tying for 14th and hitting one under par in the second round.
Wingerter will compete in his first tournament of the spring, last competing in the Murray State Invitational where he shot a 220 (+7) and tied for 36th.
