CHICAGO, Ill. - After a win at Valparaiso on Thursday night, the Southern Illinois University women's basketball team (10-19, 5-14 MVC) is set for the regular season finale on Saturday at 1 p.m. against UIC.

QUICK HITS
- The Salukis head into their final game of the regular season with a record of 10-19 overall and 5-14 in MVC play. On the road, SIU is 2-8 this season.Â
- In its last game, Southern Illinois defeated Valpo, 60-51, on Thursday night in Indiana. SIU shot 39.2% from the field in the win and held the Beacons to 38.0% shooting.Â
- Adrianna Katcher posted her first career doubled-double (14 points and 12 rebounds) while fellow senior Quierra Love scored a team-high 18 points.Â
- SIU is locked-in to either the eighth or ninth seed for the conference tournament, and will be facing Indiana State in the opening round next Thursday, March 14.Â
- Southern Illinois is eighth in scoring offense (65.9) and fifth in scoring defense (68.7).
- The Salukis lead the Valley and are 34th in the NCAA in turnovers forced-per-game (19.66).Â
- No team in the conference has allowed fewer three-pointers than SIU at 135. Missouri State is second with 146. Southern is also second in the Valley in opponent three-point percentage (.296).
- The Salukis are first in the MVC and 41st in the country in turnover margin (3.69).Â
- Southern Illinois leads the Valley and is tied for 13th in the NCAA in steals-per-game (11.2). The Salukis have posted 10 or more steals in 18 games and have three players top six in the league in steals-per-game.Â
LEADING THE SALUKIS
- Laniah Randle is the only player in the MVC to be top three in both scoring (second, 18.7) and rebounding (tied for second, 8.8). Randle is also tied for 13th in total blocks (20) and is fifth in total steals (62). The junior has had 20 or more points in 14 games this season, and four games with over 30, which leads the Valley. The next highest tally in the league is two.Â
- Randle is tied for 40th in the NCAA in scoring, is 64th in rebounding, and is 30th in offensive rebounds-per-game (3.7). The junior forward has 10 double-doubles on the season.
- In all of 2022-23, SIU had six total double-doubles. The Salukis have 14 as a team this season. Randle has provided nine of them, Seairra Hughes has three, and Katcher has one.Â
- Jaidynn Mason is second on the team and tied for 11th in the MVC in scoring, averaging 14.4 points to go along with 3.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 2.6 steals-per-game, with the steals average leading the conference. Mason posted her 16th game with 10+ points on Thursday and has three games with over 20 points on the year.Â
- Quierra Love is tied for fifth in the MVC and tied for 76th in the NCAA in steals-per-game (2.17). Love has posted two or more steals in 15 games, and has at least four steals in seven games. Love is now sixth in career steals (197) at SIU, and is one steal away from tying Molly McDowell for fifth.
- Love is tied for seventh in the MVC in assists-per-game (3.9), and is 10th in assist/turnover ratio (1.6).Â
- Adrianna Katcher, following a career-high five-block performance on Senior Day vs. Bradley, posted her first career double-double against Valpo, scoring 14 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.
LOOKING AT UIC
- The Flames are seventh in the MVC at 10-9 in conference play and 17-13 overall. UIC is locked-in the seventh seed for the tournament.
- In its last game, UIC earned a 65-61 home victory over Missouri State on Thursday. The Flames were hot from deep, going 6-for-9 from beyond-the-arc in the win.Â
- Makiyah Williams led the team with 19 points in the win.Â
- Williams is UIC's top scoring threat, averaging a team-high 13.1 points-per-game on the season.Â
- Ashleen Bracey holds a record of 36-30 at UIC and is in her second year as the program's head coach.
SERIES HISTORY
- Southern Illinois is 12-6 against UIC in the programs' series history.Â
- In their last meeting, the Flames defeated the Salukis, 66-59, in Carbondale on Jan. 4. UIC was led by a big second half, where it out-scored Southern Illinois, 38-27.Â
- Tara Green was UIC's leading scorer with 23 points, while Randle led the Salukis with 16 points, followed by Love's 15.Â
