Preview | Salukis travel to Iowa for Hawkeye Invitational

CARBONDALE, Ill. – The Southern Illinois Men's golf team heads to the Hawkeye Invitational Saturday, April 13, in Iowa City, Iowa.
The weekend tournament will see the Salukis compete against 15 teams, featuring Central Arkansas, Creighton, Drake, Illinois State, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri State, Murray State, Nebraska, Northern Illinois, South Dakota State, Texas Christian University (TCU), Kansas City, Wichita State, and Wisconsin.
The Salukis lineup for the Hawkeye Invitational is Edouard Cereto, Andrew Thornton, Hugo Archer, Dain Richie, and Justin Wingerter.
The Hawkeye Invitational is a two-day tournament with each team playing 36 holes on Saturday, and 18 on Sunday. The tournament will take place on the Finkbine Golf Course, a par-71 course spanning 7,197 yards.
The Salukis are coming off their best spring performance, placing 4th at the Hoosier Collegiate.
MVC Golfer of the Week Edouard Cereto will look to carry momentum from a strong performance at the Hoosier Collegiate, where he led the Salukis with a 1st place finish. He finished with a score of 212 (-1), behind a strong 2nd score of 68 (-3).
