Preview | Men's Golf Heads to NCAA Regional in West Lafayette

CARBONDALE, Ill. – The Southern Illinois University men's golf team will head to its fourth NCAA Division I Championship tournament on Monday, May 12. The West Lafayette Regional is being hosted by Purdue University at the Kampen-Cosler Course in the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex.
The field at the West Lafayette Regional will consist of 13 teams, with the top five finishers advancing to the finals, May 24-29, in Carlsbad, Calif.
The West Lafayette Regional will see the following teams by seed:
The Salukis will send a five-man team, along with one individual golfer, to the West Lafayette Regional. The lineup will feature Edouard Cereto, Leon Heitz, Dain Richie, Hugo Archer, and Andrew Thornton, while the individual golfer will be Oliver Ulrich.
Cereto will look to carry his strong play into the regional after winning the MVC tournament with a score of 209 (-7) with a low score of 67 (-5) in the second round of the tournament.
As a team, the Salukis finished the MVC tournament with a score of 856 (-8). Southern Illinois was the only team to finish below par, with the next closest team finishing the tournament at even par.
