CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University softball's Rylie Hamilton, Jackie Lis, and Sidney Jones were all named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Honorees for the 2024 season.
The trio started a combined 162 games en route to a Missouri Valley Conference regular season and tournament championship, along with the program's first-ever NCAA Regional Final appearance.Â
Hamilton posted a .261 batting average, .351 on-base percentage, and had 32 RBI in a year where the veteran third baseman was named to the All-MVC Second Team and MVC Scholar-Athlete Second Team.Â
Lis, who was named both the MVC Most Valuable Player and MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, hit .344 with a .467 on-base percentage, .725 slugging percentage, and posted 16 home runs, the second-most in program history.
Jones tallied a .300 batting average and .364 on-base percentage with nine doubles, 33 RBI, and three home runs. The senior first baseman was named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete Second Team on May 14.
The Salukis went 44-11 in 2024, the most wins for the program since winning 47 games in 2005.Â
