News | Saluki Basketball Set to Open 2024-25 Against College of Charleston in Field of 68 Opening Day Showcase

CARBONDALE, Ill. – The countdown is on as Southern Illinois basketball will take on College of Charleston on November 4, 2024, as the Salukis take part in the Field of 68 Opening Day Showcase.
The game will tip at 11 a.m. at the iconic Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
It will be the first meeting between SIU and College of Charleston. The Cougars are led by Chris Mack in what will be his first season at the helm of the program.
The game will be the debut for new Saluki head coach Scott Nagy. Southern Illinois returns three players from last year's team and added 10 scholarship players and a walk-on during the transfer window. The full roster can be viewed HERE.
Other games taking place in the showcase include Saint Louis versus Santa Clara (2 p.m.) and McNeese State versus South Dakota State (5 p.m.) All three games will be produced exclusively by Field of 68 and will be available to fans free-of-charge on YouTube and X.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. CT, August 1.
