EUGENE, Oreg. -Â Saluki alum DeAnna Price qualified for her third Olympic games after placing second at the U.S. Olympic trials Sunday, June 23, in Eugene, Oreg.
The 31-year-old threw an impressive 244-6, placing her comfortably in the top three by nearly 11 feet.
Price last competed in the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, where she finished eighth. She was dealing with a fractured foot at the time and will look to improve her performance this time around while fully healthy.
Price will be joined by trials champion Annette Echikunwoke, who won the competition by throwing 245 feet on her first attempt.
The 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France, will get underway with the Opening Ceremonies on July 26, with the women's hammer throw qualifying rounds scheduled to begin August 4.
