Recap | UNI sweeps Salukis Friday in Cedar Falls

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - Southern Illinois Women's Volleyball was swept in three sets by Northern Iowa Friday in Cedar Falls.
The Salukis (8-5) showed life in the middle of set three, but a 5-0 UNI run shut down any momentum. SIU only led past the fifth point on two occasions with leads of 9-8 and 10-9 in the third set.
Annabelle Sulish led the Salukis with 7 kills, with she and Jillian Shaneyfelt each tallying an ace.
After 17 kills against SEMO on Saturday, Avery Parris seemed primed to pick up where she left off after two early kills in set one, but the Panthers (6-7) contained her well in the contest, not allowing her to score another point.
A 3-0 Saluki lead in set two quickly evaporated, and UNI proceeded to go on a 25-8 run and comfortably win set two.
Southern played its best volleyball in set three and kept the deficit within six throughout the frame.
