CARBONDALE, Ill. – Southern Illinois basketball heads to Music City Wednesday to faceoff with Belmont. Tipoff with the Bruins is set for 6:30 p.m. CT from the Curb Event Center in Nashville.

- SIU enters play at 5-10 overall and 0-4 in MVC play after dropping its last game at Illinois State.
- The Salukis have lost their last four games with the last win coming on the road against Austin Peay.
- Ali Dibba has scored 10 or more points in all but two games this season. The senior guard scored a career-high 27 against High Point after scoring 26 points against Eastern Kentucky with 24 of the 26 points in the second half. He leads the team with 14.7 points per game.
- Kennard Davis Jr. is coming off his second double-double of the season after a 19-point and 10-rebound game against Evansville. He is second on the team with 14.2 points per game to go along with 4.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists. Davis ranks third in the MVC (behind Drake's Bennett Stirtz and UIC's Javon Jackson) in steals with 1.8 per game this season. He has 25 steals this year after just 22 all of last season.
- The duo of Dibba and Davis rank fifth and ninth in scoring in the MVC.
- With a career-high five steals at Illinois State, senior Ali Dibba hit the 100 career steals mark.
- Jarrett Hensley is putting up 10.3 points per game to go along with a team-high 6.0 rebounds per contest. He leads SIU and ranks ninth in the MVC with 13 blocked shots.
- SIU ranks fourth in the MVC with 36.07 rebounds per game. The Salukis have done damage on the offensive glass as they rank fourth in the league with 11.33 caroms on the offensive end this season.
- SIU is averaging 10.40 fastbreak points per game which ranks sixth in the MVC.
- As a team, SIU is seventh in the Valley in blocks with three per game. Jarrett Hensley leads SIU with 13 blocks and 0.87 blocks per game. Antwaun Massey has nine blocks for the Dawgs.
LOOKING AT BELMONT
- Belmont is 10-5 overall and 2-2 in Valley action entering Wednesday.
- The Bruins snapped a three-game skid last time out with a 92-87 win over UIC at home.
- Belmont has four players scoring ten or more led by Jonathan Pierre with 13.7 points per game. Carter Whitt (12.5), Isaiah Walker (11.8) and Tyler Lundblade (10.9) round out the double-digit scorers for the Bruins.
- Belmont leads the MVC in assists per game (17.7) and assist/turnover ratio (1.56).
- As a squad, Belmont is scoring 81.1 points per game which ranks third in the MVC.
SERIES HISTORY WITH THE BRUINS
- Wednesday will be just the fifth time the two programs have met on the hardwood with SIU leading the series 3-1.
- The Salukis took their first loss to Belmont last season on the road, falling 82-68 at the Curb Event Center. Ja'Kobi Gillespie led the Bruins with 29 points while SIU's Xavier Johnson scored 17 in the loss.
