Track and Field Shows Promise in Fast Start Weekend

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University Track and Field finished the Saluki Fast Start on Saturday, Dec. 6, at the SIU Recreation Center. The event kicked off the 2025-26 Indoor Season.
Friday afternoon began the action with the men's and women's pentathlon. Southern Illinois' Dom Martin came out in first place with 3,205 points, winning the 60-meter hurdles and long jump.
Dallas Hodge began the season on a high note for the throwers, tossing 18.18 meters in the weight throw to win the event.
Southern showed out on Saturday, as the Salukis won 13 events, eight on the track and five in the field.
