COLUMBIA, Mo. – Southern Illinois Track and Field put together another strong showing to start the weekend at the Missouri Invite at the Hearnes Center Fieldhouse.
"It was a great meet with some good performances sprinkled throughout all event groups, as we get ready for conference with one meet left, I feel good about the direction we are going," Director of Track and Field Richard Jones said. "We still have some things to clean up but that's a good sign to me, once those minor adjustments are done, we will have a good showing at the conference meet"

"It was great to see so many of them translating areas we've been working on in impressive practice sessions into their respective races, closing the races hard," Ramos said. "Hannah Meiser, Weston Jokerst, and Brianna Nieset ran with a ferocity and trusted their ability to snipe athletes and take what is theirs."
Ramos continues "That was a lifetime indoor personal best for Weston Jokerst, a 21-second personal best 3K for Hannah Meiser, and an incredibly smart tactical execution by Brianna Nieset and an indoor open 800m best by Nieset." Ramos said. "As a group, they're trending exactly how they need to be going into conference championships."
Will Foltz competed in his first meet of the season with a second-place finish in the 3000-meter race. Foltz kept pace with the leader to the end, finishing just 1.16 seconds behind first place.
