CARBONDALE, Ill. – Southern Illinois basketball wraps up its regular season on Sunday afternoon with Indiana State on the road in Terre Haute. Tip is set for 12 p.m. CT/1 p.m. ET from Hulman Center.

- SIU enters play at 13-17 overall and 8-11 in Missouri Valley Conference action. The Salukis tied for eighth place in the league standings with Evansville with just one game remaining before Arch Madness.
- The Salukis rank second in the MVC with 35.83 rebounds per game. SIU has done damage on the offensive glass as they rank third in the league with 10.40 offensive boards per game.
- SIU is averaging 10.17 fastbreak points per game which ranks second in the MVC.
- Ali Dibba (17.0) and Kennard Davis Jr. (16.2) rank third and fifth in scoring in the MVC.
- Dibba has scored in double-digits in all but three games this season.
- Dibba leads the MVC and ranks 27th in the nation with 197 made field goals.
- Davis has been an iron man for SIU, playing all but seven minutes in the last three games. He scored 26 against Murray State, 21 against Valpo, and 24 against Illinois State. During the stretch, he has also averaged 6.3 boards and 3.7 assists.
- Davis' 24 points against Illinois State last time out marked the ninth 20+ point performance this season. The sophomore scored 20 or more in five of his previous eight games.
- Davis recorded his fourth double-double of the season against Murray State with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Davis is second on the team with 5.1 boards per game.
- Jarrett Hensley is third on the team with 10.9 points per game. The graduate student has four double-doubles of the season, with his most recent double-double coming against Valpo when he scored 10 and had 12 rebounds.
- Freshman Drew Steffe has recorded multiple assists in 24 of 30 games. His 3.3 assist-to-turnover (66:20) ratio leads the Salukis.
- Steffe has been dominant in his last six games, averaging 12.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists. Over the stretch, he has shot 57.6 percent from behind the arc, including a 5-for-5 mark in his last game -- tying the MVC season-high for 3-pointers made in a game.
- Five Salukis scored in double-figures against Valpo. It was the third time this year that SIU has done so, but the first game which the Salukis lost.
- Dibba scored 33 on the road at Belmont before Jarrett Hensley had 30 at home against Missouri State. They became the first Saluki duo to score 30 or more in a season since 2005-06 when Jamaal Tatum (37) and Tony Young (30) did so against Eastern Washington and Bradley.
LOOKING AT INDIANA STATE
- Indiana State enters the matchup at 13-17 overall and 7-12 in the Missouri Valley Conference under first-year head coach Matthew Graves.
- After falling to Evansville at home, and Belmont and Murray State on the road, the Sycamores will look to snap a three-game losing skid.
- Indiana State is 7-6 inside Hulman Center, 4-9 on the road, and 2-2 in neutral site games.
- The Trees are second in the MVC in scoring offense at 79.4 points per game. ISU is leading the league in 3-point attempts with 29.2 per game and in fast break points with 11.67 per game.
- Samage Teel leads the Sycamores with 17 points per outing with Jaden Daughtry scoring 12.9 points and grabbing 4.3 rebounds per game.
SERIES HISTORY WITH THE SYCAMORES
- Sunday's game will mark the 146th meeting between the Salukis and Sycamores.
- Southern Illinois leads the all-time series 92-53, though Indiana State has won six of the last 10 meetings.
- The Salukis are 33-36 on the road all-time against the Trees, 3-5 on a neutral court, and 54-12 at home.
LAST TIME AGAINST THE TREES
- Southern Illinois captured Banterra Magic in its last meeting with the Sycamores in 2023-24 as the Salukis defeated No. 23-ranked Indiana State 74-69 to earn its first win over a ranked team at home since 2013 against Wichita State.
- The Salukis trailed Indiana State by as many as 13 points in the game before rallying back to secure the win. Offense was key for the Salukis, especially in the second half but defense proved to be the deciding factor as Southern held the high-powered Sycamore offense to just 69 points.
