COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Southern Illinois Women's Golf completed its final regular season tournament with a 13th-place finish in the Terps Invitational Monday, April 7, in College Park, Md.
Calli Smith was the team's highest finisher shooting every round under 80 and a combined score of 234 (+18), her lowest of the season.Â
Head Coach Rory Weinfurther has seen growth from Smith, and knows she will be key to a good team performance in Waterloo.
"Calli was really focused and thoughtful during the round which was awesome and fun to watch," Weinfurther said. "She will be a huge factor in conference especially knowing the golf course."
Here is how the Saluki golfers fared:
Weinfurther believes this week's practices will be of utmost importance, as it is the final time players will be able to compete with each other before what may be the final tournament of the 2024-25 season.
"I'm really looking for those traveling to want to do well this week and do everything they can to prepare to compete during our practice times but also outside of it," she said.
