The Salukis women's golf team is headed to Sedona, Arizona for the Red Rocks invitational taking place Friday, March 13- March 15th. Last year the event was delayed a few times because of weather but the conditions are forecasted to be better this time around.Â
This year's participants will be Weber State, North Arizona University, Stonehill college, Gonzaga University, Southern Utah, College of William and Mary, University of Colorado, Emery-Riddle Aeronautical, Grand Canyon University, Wichita Stat, University of Montana.Â
The Dawgs lineup will feature Smith, Sayyalinh, Ella Overstreet, Allie Santos, and Amelia Zinger.
The women's golf team had their lowest round of the season last tournament in Florida as Calli Smith finished 8th overall. The tournament before also in Florida, featured Kayla Sayllinah finishing in the top ten. There has been steady progress and signs of a team on the brink of a breakthrough.
Head Coach Sam Sambursky said the team has been focused on the details and being ready for the next challenge. "We've been focusing on the little things in preparation—course management, short game and staying present. If we do those things well, we'll give ourselves a chance to compete in Sedona."Â
