Carbondale, Ill. — Southern Illinois women's golf heads to Silvis, Illinois, for the 2026 Missouri Valley Conference Championship at TPC Deere Run, marking the final tournament of the season.
The three-day championship will take place April 19–21, featuring a 54-hole format with 18 holes played each day from Sunday through Tuesday. The Salukis will face a competitive 10-team field that includes Valparaiso, Murray State, Drake, Bradley, UIC, Indiana State, Evansville, Belmont, and Illinois State.
Last season, SIU finished eighth with a team score of 60-over par. This year, the Salukis enter the championship with momentum, having shown steady improvement throughout the spring and coming off a top-three finish at the Jan Weaver Invitational in Murray.
Head coach Sam Sambursky believes her team is prepared to take the next step. "I'm proud of our effort this spring, and we are prepared for conference," Sambursky said. "We need to stay committed to each shot and let the scores add up at the end. The team is playing with confidence coming off our best finish of the season."
With confidence building and consistency improving, the Salukis look to close out their season on a strong note at the MVC Championship.
