AUBURN, Ala. — Southern Illinois women's soccer took the field at Auburn, stepping into a high-major matchup as they fell, 3-0.

The Tigers put the pressure on Southern from the jump, but the Saluki defense held its own in the early going. Auburn netted its first goal in the 31st minute to open the scoring.

The Saluki goalkeepers collected five saves on the night. Reagan Miller had three and freshman KK Miller added two in her first collegiate appearance.

SIU battled hard, but conceded two more goals in the second half.
