Hassan Helps Salukis Set Program Record With Fifth Straight Win

MARTIN, TENN. — Southern Illinois continued its strong start to the season Sunday night at UT Martin, earning its fifth straight win and setting a new program record.

Victoria Hassan scored unassisted in the 21st minute to put the Salukis on the board.

With the city of Martin dealing with a power outage, Sunday's match was delayed with Southern Illinois leading 1-0 at the break. After the lights at Skyhawk Soccer Field returned, the game resumed at 9:30 p.m. CT following a 2-hour, 30-minute delay.

Reagan Miller locked down the net once again with five saves, preserving her team's fifth consecutive shutout — also a program record.

The victory marked the Salukis' fifth straight win and improved their record to 6-2.

UP NEXT
The Salukis begin conference play with a trip to Evansville on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Arad McCutchan Stadium in Evansville, Indiana.
