Saluki Women Head to Chicago for Sean Earl Lakefront Invite

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University women's Cross Country team will return to action on Friday, Sept. 25, at the Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invite in Chicago, Illinois.
The women's 6K race is scheduled to begin at 10:20 a.m. at Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course.
Southern Illinois will travel with the following women's squad:
- Hannah Meiser
- Jaylee Duncan
- Riley Linville
- Savanna Franzen
- Carryn Sattler
- Layla Janisch
- Ellary Blakey
- Sophie Krupa
The Salukis return to competition after opening their 2026 season at the City Auto Memphis Twilight Classic. Hannah Meiser led Southern Illinois in Memphis, finishing 25th with a time of 18:32.41.
Jaylee Duncan followed in 41st at 19:09.60, while Riley Linville placed 45th with a time of 19:12.80. Savanna Franzen finished 57th in 19:27.97, and Carryn Sattler rounded out SIU's scoring five in 73rd at 19:50.78. The women finished seventh as a team in Memphis, with several freshmen making an immediate impact in their first competition of the season.
Friday's meet will mark Southern Illinois' first 6K race of the 2026 campaign and provide another early-season opportunity for the Salukis to continue progressing as a group.
