Women’s Golf Begins 2026-27 Season at Bear Brawl

CARBONDALE, Ill. – Southern Illinois Women's Golf will open its 2026-27 season at the Bear Brawl on Monday, Sept. 7, in Greeley, Colorado.
The two-day tournament, hosted by the University of Northern Colorado, will take place Sept. 7-8 at Greeley Country Club. Teams are scheduled to play 36 holes Monday before concluding the tournament with 18 holes Tuesday.
SIU will send five golfers to compete in its season opener: seniors Calli Smith and Allie Santos, along with freshmen Mackenzie Thomas, Zeme Moore and Maria Eugenia Peres.
Smith and Santos return to the lineup with collegiate experience, while Thomas, Moore and Peres are set to make their Saluki debuts.
The Bear Brawl marks the beginning of Southern Illinois' 2026 fall campaign, with the Salukis featuring a combination of veteran leadership and three newcomers in their opening lineup.
Competition begins Monday and concludes Tuesday in Greeley, CO.
