Finished singles season with a 10-14 record including a 2-2 conference finish...Led the team in doubles wins with a record of 14-9 with partner Martijn Admiraal.. Set a new SIU record with 51 career doubles wins...Missouri Valley Conference All-Select Team member.
2011-12: Went 9-11 in singles in the dual-match season (10-18 overall), primarily at No. 3 singles...Played over 76 percent of Southern[apos]s doubles matches at the top position, where he accumulated a 5-8 record with three different partners...Went 8-10 in doubles in the dual-match season (14-14 overall)...Went 6-4 in the fall season, including 4-2 with partner Martijn Admiraal...Florez and Admiraal were nationally ranked No. 42 in doubles from Jan. 3 to Feb. 16 after a stellar fall season...Advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA Central Regional doubles main draw with Admiraal...Defeated Nebraska[apos]s Robert Schulze and Andre Stenger 9-8 (4) in the second round before succumbing to the eventual champions Clifford Marsland and Ashley Watling of Tulsa in the quarterfinals, who were ranked fourth in the nation at the time.
2010-11: Went 11-6 in singles for SIU in his sophomore year, going 7-2 at No. 4 and 4-4 at No. 3...In doubles, Florez went 10-6 at No. 1 with partner Adam Fabik.
2009-10: Notched a 2-17 record in singles, playing mostly between first and second positions...Notched two victories against Miguel Reyes of Georgetown (Ky.) 7-6, 6-2 and Paulo Gonzalez of SIU-Edwardsville 6-1, 6-4...Went 9-8 in doubles with fellow freshman Chikara Kidera and 1-1 with senior Lucas Waked.
High School: Ranked No. 143 in the nation and No. 12 in Texas by tennisrecruiting.net...As a freshman, advanced to the Texas state finals in doubles, where he eventually captured third place...In senior year, Florez advanced to the state title match, but was defeated in three sets.
