Eric Gilpin enters his first season at Southern Illinois and serves as the men’s golf graduate assistant coach.
A native of Bloomington, Ill., Gilpin played collegiate golf at Indian Hills Community College (2015-17), Wintrop (2017-18) and Lipscomb University (2018-19). He totaled 42 collegiate tournament starts and was a national semifinalist for the Jack Nicklaus Award (NJCAA Player of the Year) as a sophomore.
Gilpin earned GCAA All-America Scholar honors and tallied four top-15 finishes at Winthrop. He was named team captain and tied for third at the Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate in his lone season at Lipscomb.
Gilpin earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Lipscomb in 2019 and will be working towards a master’s in sports studies at SIU.
