Volleyball Swept By Missouri In Non-MVC Play

Columbia, Mo. - Southern Illinois University Carbondale (8-13, 3-8 MVC) was swept by Missouri (16-5, 6-5 Big 12) on Monday night. The 30-22, 30-26, 30-21 loss ended a three-match road trip with three straight losses after SIU lost to SMS and Wichita State over the weekend.
Kristie Kemner and Jenny Noel led the Salukis. Kemner had 9 kills and 11 digs while Noel added 9 kills, 10 digs, 2 solo blocks and 2 block assists. Megan Baumstark passed out 32 assists with 5 digs.
Lindsey Schultz added just 3 kills in 10 attempts with 2 errors for a .100 hitting performance, her lowest of the year. Kelly Harman added 7 kills.
SIU hit just .157 while the Tigers hit .296 for the match. Missouri also totaled 9 aces to just 2 for SIU.
SIU will be back in Davies gym this weekend to face Illinois State (Oct. 26) and Indiana State (Oct. 27) in crucial MVC matches.
