ST. LOUIS, Mo. -Â Southern Illinois Volleyball's Kelly Franklin was named Missouri Valley Second-Team All-Conference on Wednesday. The honor is Franklin's first mention, and the program's first since 2023.
Head Coach Brittany Harry expressed appreciation for one of her senior leaders.
"So happy that Kelly was recognized by the league coaches for her performance this season," Harry said. "Kelly was a workhorse every day for us, and I'm very proud of her accomplishments this season."
The Lake Worth, Fla., native put together the best season of her collegiate career, leading the Salukis and ranking fifth in The Valley with 351 kills, and ranked ninth with 3.00 kills per set. Franklin also put together an ultra-efficient season from the outside, hitting .292. Franklin also tallied 99 digs, 57 blocks, five service aces and scored 385.5 points on the season, which ranked seventh in the MVC.
Franklin also collected several milestones during the year, tallying a career-high 23 kills and 52 attempts against Valparaiso on Oct. 11. She recorded a career-high six blocks against Indiana State on Oct. 3 and had 13 matches where she hit over .350.
Her efforts were a significant contributor to Southern's improvement from 2024, adding three wins overall and four wins in conference in the first year of the Brittany Harry era.
