Volleyball Host Illinois State, Indiana State

Carbondale, Ill. - Southern Illinois University Carbondale (8-13, 3-8 MVC) will be home for two important MVC matches against Illinois State (11-8, 7-3 MVC) and Indiana State (11-10, 5-5 MVC) this weekend.

The Salukis are currently tied for seventh place in the MVC behind sixth place Indiana State. SIU lost to Illinois State 3-2 and to Indiana State 3-0 in the first meetings this season.

"We're looking for progress in our play this weekend and two wins would be a good sign that we're moving in the right direction," said Sonya Locke, Saluki head coach.

"We know what we have to do in MVC play this weekend to have a shot at the tournament. We have to play sound defense and convert it into great offense."

The Salukis host Illinois State on Friday, October 26 at 7 p.m. and Indiana State on Saturday, October 27 at 5 p.m. in Davies Gym.
