SIU Women's Golf to Compete in Hawaii

Carbondale, Ill. - After a two-week break, the Southern Illinois University women's golf team returns to the links Tuesday-Wednesday, Oct. 30-31, when the Salukis head to Kapolei, Hawaii, to compete in the Fifth Annual Rainbow Wahine Fall Invitational.
This year's tournament, which has expanded to 19 teams, will be hosted by the University of Hawaii women's golf team. The two-day event will begin with 36 holes of action on Tuesday before concluding with a final round of 18 holes on Wednesday. Additionally, the tournament will take place at Kapolei Golf Course which has been host to the LPGA Cup Noodles Lady Hawaiian Open, and plays to a par of 72 at 5,900 yards.
Among this year's field are seven teams which were ranked in the top-50 according to the GolfWeek/Sagarin Rankings as of Oct. 25. Those teams include California (30), Baylor (32), Idaho (40), Central Florida (36), Brigham Young (42), Oregon State (46) and Arizona (13). Also participating in the event are Hawaii, SIU, Long Beach State, Colorado, UNLV, San Jose State, UC-Riverside, Denver, New Mexico, San Diego State, Oregon and San Francisco.
