Carbondale, Ill. - Southern Illinois University Carbondale (6-10, 2-6 MVC) travels to Macomb, Illinois to play Western Illinois (2-9, 2-2 Mid-Continent) on Tuesday, October 9 at 7 p.m.
"They're a fiery team and we can't underestimate them. They'll be at home and they're looking for a win. Just because we beat Drake (who beat Western twice) doesn't mean anything," said Sonya Locke, Saluki head coach. "We'll have a good game plan and will have to play hard to get a win."
The Salukis are coming off a win over Drake and a loss to Creighton last weekend in MVC play.
The match was originally scheduled to be played on September 16 but was postponed after the terrorist bombings forced the Salukis to play Northern Iowa on September 16 pushing the Western Illinois match to October 9.
