Carbondale, Ill. - Kristie Kemner and Megan Baumstark each had double-double performances for Southern Illinois University (11-18, 5-12 MVC), but it wasn't enough to keep Bradley (22-7, 13-4 MVC) from winning three close games and sweeping the Salukis 30-26, 31-29, 30-28 on Friday night.
Kemner hit .395 (16 kills, 1 error, 38 attempts) with 10 digs to go along with 16 kills. Her 16 kills gives her 414 for the season, which is ninth best in SIU history and pushes her ahead of Deb Heyne (400) and her coach Sonya Locke, who had 411.
Baumstark passed out 48 assists and added 11 digs. Her 48 assists gives her 1182 for a season, the sixth best mark in school history.
Qiana Nelson added 12 kills and hit .407 (12 kills, 1 error, 27 attempts). Lindsey Schultz added 10 kills, 3 block assists and a solo block. Her three block assists give her 88 for the season, tying her with teammate Jenny Noel for the tenth best single season mark at SIU.
The Salukis out hit (.270 to .259) and out defended (51 to 45 digs) Bradley but were out blocked (9.5 to 6).
The Salukis finish the season on Saturday against #17 Northern Iowa at 7 p.m. at Davies Gym.
